História
KF Egnatia (Albanian: Klubi i Futbollit Egnatia) is an Albanian professional football club based in Rrogozhinë. The club competes in Kategoria Superiore, the top tier of Albanian football. Their home ground is Egnatia Arena, which has a capacity of 5,000 spectators.
The club was founded on 15 September 1934 under the name 22 Shtatori Rrogozhinë. In 1991 the name of the club was changed to Vullneti Rrogozhinë, before being renamed to Egnatia, in 1998. The club secured its first championship title in 2024.
The club's name derives from the ancient Via Egnatia, the Roman road that passed through the Rrogozhinë area. The road itself was named after Gnaeus Egnatius, the Roman proconsul of the Roman province of Macedonia who oversaw its construction in the 2nd century BC.

Football developed as a popular pastime in Rrogozhinë during the early years of the First World War. Being close to Kavajë, a city with one of Albania’s strongest footballing traditions, the town benefited from its neighbour’s influence and gradually formed an amateur team that would later compete in the country’s second division. The club’s first recorded match took place in 1934, when it faced Besa in a friendly and lost 7–1. Besa’s victory was largely inspired from the five goals scored by Mustafa Cara, an agronomy student studying in Bari, Italy, who was also playing for local club Fidelis Astria.
After the end of World War II, Albanian football was reorganized, with participation in the top two divisions restricted to district-level representative teams. As Rrogozhinë was still a locality at the time, Egnatia was unable to compete at the national level under the new system.
Egnatia earned promotion to Kategoria Superiore for the first time after winning the 2003–04 Kategoria e Parë season. The club’s first spell in the top flight lasted only one season, as it was relegated at the end of the 2004–05 campaign. During that season, Hysen Dedja and Petrit Haxhia were succeeded as head coach by Alfred Ferko.
Recent years
Egnatia were promoted back to the top flight of Albanian football, the Kategoria Superiore, for the second time in their history on 2 May 2021, following a 1–0 victory over local rivals Besa Kavajë in the Promotion Round of the 2020–21 Kategoria e Parë. Under head coach Gugash Magani, they finished top of Group B during the regular season and qualified for the Promotion Round, where they also finished top, securing their place in the championship final held on 21 May 2021 against the winners of Group A, Dinamo Tirana, where they won 1–0 through a stoppage-time winner from Ndriçim Shtubina. On 26 May 2024, Egnatia won their first Kategoria Superiore title after beating Partizani in the final. They have since gone on to win three back-to-back league titles in 2023–24, 2024–25, and 2025–26.
On August 13, 2026, Egnatia eliminated Irish club Shamrock Rovers 6–4 on aggregate to advance to the 2026–27 UEFA Europa League play-off round, guaranteeing a team representing Albania in the group stage of a European club competition for the first time since KF Skënderbeu in the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League. They would eventually qualify for the 2026-27 UEFA Conference League, having lost to Norwegian club Lillestrom SK 2-1 on aggregate in the play-off round.
